Tip Tuesday: Layering like a Cake

This is a guest post from my amazing friend Lisa, who is a beautiful, fashionable, homeschool SAHM! She is so encouraging and inspirational to me! I know you will enjoy her Tuesday tips!

Hi Ladies! It's Admin Tip Tuesday! So I guess I've been labeled "The Layering Queen/Vest Queen!" (lol) So I am doing some layering tips! Think of layering clothes kind of like you would layer a cake! I know, weird! But hang in there with me!

First- You have your "cake layer" which would be your "go to pieces" or your "basics". Here are some of mine.

Dainty Jewell's: A Night in Paris Dress

When I received this dress from Dainty Jewell's last week, I was in awe of it's beauty! I wished I would have found this dress when I was getting married, it would have been perfect for bridesmaid's dresses. It is so hard to find modest dresses! You never have to "fix" any dress you get from Dainty Jewell's, no shawls, no cardigans, they are perfect just the way they are made!

If you are looking for a modest dress for a formal occasion, the perfect bridesmaid dresses, or even just a new dress to wear to church on a Sunday morning, I HIGHLY recommend Dainty Jewell's! I found this store a while back when I was searching for modern & modest clothing for women.

Today, I wore this beautiful "A Night in Paris" lace dress in navy. This gorgeous dress is lined with a soft knit fabric which makes it incredibly comfortable. A wide ribbon belt is also included. The details are simply breathtaking! A generous variety of colors are available which make this dress suitable for many occasions. This is available in knee length (what I am wearing) or ankle length- which would be perfect for a formal or bridesmaid dresses. You wouldn't believe how many people asked me where I got this dress today at church, it is definitely a new favorite of mine!

How to Have a Great Wardrobe on a Small Budget

I had a lady special request this post. I'm going to try to do my best in answering it for her and hopefully help some others along the way! Her exact question was:

Hey Lauren - I was wondering, have you ever done a post on anything having to do with how your family manages finances? Since you are also a style maven and a shopper who tries to do things on a budget; I was just wondering how you make it all work. My husband and I are currently setting up a budget and I am trying to find ideas/boundaries for myself so I can learn to be a better steward with what God has provided us.

First of all, I do not have a specific budget set aside for clothes. Now, that doesn't mean I run wild every weekend in the mall buying everything I want. I am a VERY frugal person! I've told you all before my husband and I are both Christian school teachers, therefore if you know how much a Christian school teacher makes, you know why I can't just go spend whatever I want on clothes! (haha!) I'm very limited even with both of us working. Just to give you an idea, one public school teacher makes twice as much as my husband and I do combined! I say all of that to say, I know what it's like to need some help on being a good steward with what God has blessed me with.

Here are some tips that will hopefully help:

Be{YOU}tiful

 photo beyou9.jpg

Over the past 2 in a half years of blogging, I've had so many people ask me why I don't do this or that, or tell me what they think I should do more of... The honest truth is, my blog is the way it is, because it's the way I am!! I'm not looking to change my personal style! I've had a couple of people ask me why I don't wear different style skirts...and really it's just because I wear what I like and what flatters me! :) I'm not trying to get anyone to be just like me, and I'm not trying to be just like anyone else. My purpose is to give encouragement and inspiration to those who need it!

God made us ALL different and unique. How boring would that be if everyone was the same? I love that God made me special, and He also made you special too! "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." (Psalms 139:14) Some ladies do struggle with finding their own personal style, so I figured I would give some tips that I've learned.

Younique 3D Fiber Mascara Tutorial and Giveaway

 photo younique2.jpg

Ok, so if you haven't tried Younique's 3D Fiber Mascara yet...your life will be changed forever when you do! I bought some from my friend, because I kept hearing people talk about 3D Fiber mascara, and I wondered if it really worked. My first thought was that it was too expensive, but I kept hearing raving reviews. So, I decided to finally buy one. I immediately fell in love with it! I told everyone I knew! My mom said she can never go back to just wearing normal mascara, that she feels naked without it!

3D Fiber lash mascara is different than normal mascara. It comes in two tubes. One transplanting gel and then the other is natural fibers. One thing I love about Younique's products is that they are all natural.
