I know this look isn't for everyone..but I love it! I think blogging has really helped me to open up to have a more risky style. A year ago, I would have NEVER mixed stripes and leopard, but I've grown to love and embrace the style of pattern mixing! Don't get me wrong, I will always stay true to my personal style, but I definitely have more of a open-minded attitude towards new trends now. My main goal is to have a style that is "wearable" by anyone and everyone.
I recently saw someone on FaceBook say that people who don't wear expensive clothes aren't "real" fashion bloggers...and that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I would rather see someone be able to dress stylish without spending $100 on a skirt and $68 on a shirt. I am a cheap skate, I guarantee you, I will NEVER spend more than $25 on ANY item...Don't get me wrong I LOVE expensive brands, but I can find the same or similar style for waayyyyyyyy cheaper. Therefore, I think fashion bloggers on a budget are more talented, because they have to search for deals & styles! :) (rant over!)
Now, on to my outfit! I love this burgundy skirt, it was definitely a great buy for this fall. You will see it used many more times this season!
I LOVE this outfit! I think you mixed patterns perfectly and the colors are so great for fall! And I obviously agree with you about fashion bloggers on a budget being more talented :) http://janelleinreallife.blogspot.com
I am wearing the exact same thing on my top half today! I actually wanted to wear my purple skirt today, but it's just a little chilly outside and my office is freezing so I chose to wear white pants! Great minds think alike and create great outfits ;)
I definitely agree your opinion . Getting expensive clothes isn't art of styling , the styling with any piece is the art :) Love your scarf . Noor's Place
Just found your blog today and have to say I'm loving your style! All of these looks are cute, modern, and modest, and almost all of them are things I could see myself wearing! Love it.
I totally agree. You don't need to spend a lot of money to look good. And I also agree about how blogging has made me try new things regarding fashion. Love this outfit. Love the stripes and animal print. Great outfit.
Ooooh I like this! I have a white and brown striped shirt that I am not totally in love with (it was a gift, and for some reason it just seems a little masculine too me). I think I am going to test out a few scarves with it to see if I can come up with a new look.
Ok, love this whole post. I have a hard time taking most fashion bloggers seriously because they seem to ALWAYS be purchasing brand new SUPER EXPENSIVE things that are not realistic for most people, so it's hard for me to relate with them. I own a few "investment" items here and there, but when fashion bloggers put together a J-Crew-Anthropologie-Juicy couture, etc. outfit every single day it's just not realistic for me to admire. So I'm totally with you on that rant. But I LOVE this outfit. I own a cheetah print skirt and I actually thought about putting it with stripes and now I think I might give it a try. One of my favorite outfits I've seen you post!
Super cute outfit! Love the pattern mixing... and like anything else, fashion is hard to define! Now following via GFC! Hope you can follow back! Carolyn http://www.ccmcafeeperspectivewiw.blogspot.com/
I know what you mean about the creativity of dressing on a budget. I like to find inexpensive items not just because I have a limited budget but also because it's more of a fun challenge that way! Love the burgundy + leopard in this outfit.
a) the comment about bloggers not being bloggers who don't buy expensive brands is pretty ridiculous! b) i am in love with this combo! I basically love leopard with everything, but the fact that you paired it with the saturated purple PLUS stripes just makes my heart flutter! -Carylee morepom.blogspot.com
Amen, sister! I nearly always shop thrift stores! Love a good deal AND being stylish! So fun! :)
