Color Blocking: Mint & Cobalt
I found this cobalt skirt yesterday at the J.Crew outlet for $12.00! I was SO super excited, because I have been looking for a cobalt skirt for a while! Being on a Christian school teacher's budget, I can't buy all the things I want, (which is totally fine), so when God sends me items on my "want list" that are under $15, I can't help but squeal with excitement! I'm so blessed! I may never be able to buy a full-priced item from any store, but I would rather be in God's will, than have all the finest things here on earth! My husband preached a great sermon this morning in chapel about living your life for God and not vanities that will pass away when we die. I am so glad that I chose to live for God as a 15 year old girl, and I'm perfectly content with buying sale items, thrift store finds, and driving a used car for the rest of my life.
True joy comes from God, not materials! :)
Now, on to my outfit...Today's challenge is color blocking. I paired my cobalt skirt with a mint striped shirt and a mint cardigan. I also found this beautiful statement necklace at Rue 21 for $12.99! Rue 21 is definitely my new go-to store for jewelry, since I don't have a Forever 21 anymore!
contentment is priceless.

I love you color combos! So creative. Very true about being content with what we have. Thrift stores have been my best friends when it comes to affordable and modest apparel

ReplyDeleteHello Mrs. Lauren!
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower of your blog, and I wanted to let you know what an encouragement your blog has already been! I love your style, but more than that, that you dress modestly! May the Lord bless you! Oh, and that you buy stuff on clearance and at thrift stores is great!!! I love doing the same thing, and it is amazing how many good deals you can find! :)
Keep serving Christ!
Love this necklace and the outfit is perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just love this skirt and am so excited you found it for such a good deal! I am pretty sure I have the red in this style, and I would love to have the blue one, too. I wish I lived near a JCF!
ReplyDeleteAnd also, your comments are so true and encouraging!
You look great! What a deal on that skirt, I've been wanting one too. Love the necklace, it's almost an exact dup. For my Stella and Dot one but a fraction of the price. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit and I love your viewpoint on being willing to thrift and be content with what you have! My fiance and I will be going into the ministry after our wedding and this post was encouraging!
